John Terry – Chelsea
The Blues skipper is in his final year, and like Frank Lampard will likely be moved on in the summer. However, instead of linking up with another Premier League side the former England captain will likely head overseas for one final payday before hanging up his boots. Chelsea’s defence is looking shaky at the moment, though, and he could still be offered a one-year extension.
Andre-Pierre Gignac – Marseille
One of the most consistent strikers in Ligue 1 is winding down his current deal in the south of France and will not be short of suitors should he decide to walk away from the club. Having notched 54 strikes in 148 appearances for L’OM, he could provide a club with some valuable firepower in front of goal and he will no doubt be watched a few times before the season draws to a close.
Michael Carrick – Manchester United
Currently sidelined with an ankle injury, the England international could be shown the door by Louis Van Gaal if he fails to slot back in over the coming months. He will clearly feel that he still has a part to play in the Premier League and there won’t be any shortage of interested parties that will take him off United’s hands.
Winston Reid – West Ham
The New Zealand international has been highly-rated ever since he came to the Premier League back in 2010 and he could do well to see out the remainder of his deal at Upton Park as the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have both made tentative enquiries about his availability in the past.
Ignazio Abate – AC Milan
The pacy Italian has been a staple of the Milan side for a few seasons now, though that may not be something to brag about following their performances. However, he will still come recommended and will add strength to any side he joins. Several Premier League sides have been linked with him in the past and those rumours could well be resurfacing in the near future.
Ron Vlaar – Aston Villa
Villa’s injury prone skipper has entered his final year at the club as hot property, coming off the back of a successful World Cup campaign. Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked with moves for him, though Southampton will be watching closely too.
Fabien Schar – FC Basel
The Swiss starlet has been in high demand ever since his heroics against Chelsea in last season’s Champions League. It was surprising that nobody made a move for him this summer, but clubs from anywhere between Italy and England will be making admiring glances at him over the coming months.
Emmanuel Adebayor – Tottenham Hotspur
The Togolese hit man could still earn himself an extended stay at White Heart Lane, but there is a sense that his time in the Premier League has come to an end. Clubs in France, Germany and Spain will all be interested, though in truth the club that will eventually sign him will be the one that offers the most money.
