GK) David de Gea – 5
Had little to do other than pick the ball out of the net, not that he could do much about any of the goals.
RB) Rafael – 2
One of the weak links in United’s team. Gave away the penalty for the second goal and was exposed several times.
LB) Marcos Rojo – 4
Impressed in the first half and played a great long ball for the second goal. Went missing in the second-half when United needed him.
CB) Jonny Evans – 4
Started off safely enough, but was missing for Ulloa’s first goal – withdrawn after 30 minutes due to injury.
CB) Tyler Blackett – 2
Not good enough for this level yet. He was certainly exposed in the second-half as Leicester launched their comeback. Sent-off for giving away the late penalty.
CM) Daley Blind – 4
A disappointing performance today from the Dutchman who was in the back pocked of Esteban Cambiasso for much of the afternoon.
CM) Ander Herrera – 5
Scored United’s third goal with a lovely back-heeled flick. How the afternoon changed from that point on.
CM) Angel di Maria – 8
Scored United’s second goal with a beautifully chipped finish, but needed to track back more when his team was under pressure.
AM) Wayne Rooney – 5
Playing out of position off the front pair and struggled to get involved. Cut an incredibly frustrated figure as United fell apart late on.
ST) Radamel Falcao – 6
Hit the bar with one excellent effort and made the first goal for Van Persie. He was otherwise quiet and was subbed at 3-3.
ST) Robin van Persie – 5
Got his name on the scoresheet with an early header, but was otherwise an isolated figure for much of the afternoon.
Manager: Louis van Gaal – 4
It all looked to be going so well for United at 3-1, but in the space of 30 minutes his team were ripped apart.
Subs:
1) Chris Smalling – 3 – All over the place in the second-half, is clearly not United quality.
2) Adnan Januzaj – 4 – Thrown on a 3-3 and barely got a touch of the ball.
3) Juan Mata – 4 – The game was gone by the time he replace Di Maria.
