The 23 year old has enjoyed two solid campaigns at Stamford Bridge and the Blues are clearly keen to ward off any potential interest in the former Lille man by trying to tie down the winger to a new deal.
The contract offer that is said to be on the table amounts to a whopping £50m over the course of a five year deal worth £200k a week and it’s one that Hazard is apparently close to agreeing.
Last term Hazard finished as Chelsea’s leading assist maker and top-scorer but perhaps the arrivals of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas have left the wide-man feeling he is a less crucial contributor, therefore all the more reason to appease such a quality player with a richly deserved contract.
Chelsea are clearly keen to keep hold of a number of their prized assets with keeper Thibaut Courtois recently signing a five year deal and centre-back Gary Cahill set to put pen to paper on a new three year contract.
