Tottenham have set their sights on perennial Arsenal target Yoann Gourcuff according to CalcioMercato.

The 28 year old Lyon man has struggled with form and fitness in recent seasons and may well be open to a fresh challenge after after four years at the Stade Gerland and a move to the Premier League may just tempt the French international.

The cultured midfielder has long been a player Arsene Wenger has admired but White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino will look to convince the former AC Milan and Bordeaux man to move to Spurs.

Gourcuff has managed just 17 minutes of action in Lyon’s first three Ligue 1 fixtures and is perhaps a player the Ligue 1 side are keen to offload.

Yoann Gourcuff cost Lyon a big fee back in 2010 but there’s no denying his stock has fallen of late, indeed the playmaker accepted a pay-cut to remain at the club but is out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
