Liverpool is home to some of the Premier League’s biggest names, and understandably because of that they have a pretty large wage bill. 10 Philippe Coutinho
Earning: £60,000 per-week
The Brazilian arrived as something of an unknown quantity in the January transfer window of 2013, but he has quickly risen to become one of their most potent attacking threats. He will undoubtedly earn a substantial rise when the time comes to renegotiate his terms.
9. Jordan Henderson
Earning: £60,000 per-week
The England international is only now starting to justify his £20m price tag, but the good news is that he is paying it back in spades by becoming a key figure for both club and country.
8. Dejan Lovren
Earning: £70,000 per-week
New boy Lovren must be pinching himself this season after bagging a huge summer move from Southampton. His form for the Saints had been good, but the jury is still out over whether he is worth such a hefty fee.
7. Mamadou Sakho
Earning: £75,000 per-week
The towering centre-back arrived last summer from Paris Saint Germain and is already communing a big wage based mostly on his promising early form. He is so far justifying that weekly slice of pie and is once again forcing his way back into the France national team in the process.
6. Adam Lallana
Earning: £75,000 per-week
Another new arrival from Southampton. Lallana has seen his stock rise considerably over the past 18 months and is now commanding big money. The move to Liverpool will either make of break him, though he has yet to make his debut for the Anfield outfit, though.
5. Daniel Sturridge
Earning: £80,000 per-week
The England striker is now worth every penny of his weekly wage as he steps into the limelight to replace the now departed Luis Suarez. His salary will most likely be topped up with a big goal bonus, too, ensuring that he won’t be going hungry anytime soon.
4. Martin Skrtel
Earning: £90,000 per-week
A surprising entry near the top of the list sees the big Slovakian raking in nearly £100,00 per-week. He has been a solid servant to the club over the years, and is now back in favour after having his future thrown into doubt at the tail end of the previous campaign.
3. Mario Balotelli
Earning: £90,000 per-week
Before the Italian hit man joined the club all sorts of numbers were being mentioned in relation to his weekly earnings. However, it may surprise some to learn that he is on considerably lower that what you may expect him to be collecting.
2. Glen Johnson
Earning: £110,000 per-week
It’s shocking that the club are keeping hold of the England defender on his current wage considering his form suggests he is worth nowhere near that, and Brendan Rodgers wants to hand him a new deal!
1. Steven Gerrard
Earning: £140,000 per-week
It goes without saying that the former England skipper would be collecting the biggest pay packet, y’know, being a club legend and all. Still worth the outlay, he’s hung up his international boots in order to prolong his career with the Reds.
