Bizarre to say the least…
Mystery surrounds the reasoning behind Brazil’s decision to dismiss full-back Maicon from their national team set-up earlier this week though it appears that such a decision may be irreversible according to the AS Roma star’s agent according to Goal.com.
The 33 year old’s representative Antonio Caliendo stated on the matter:
“Maicon will play a few seasons more yet,” the agent told Tele Radio Stereo. “Just like [former Brazil captain] Cafu.
“We know his hobbies outside of the field. Sometimes he has spoken of them.
“However, he is a force of nature at work. And when he quits, I suppose that he will disappear from the world of football.
“I cannot comment on the incident, but I can say that Dunga and (national team coordinator)Rinaldi are good friends and that if the coach has taken a decision as severe as this, he will not return [to the squad].”
A myriad of ‘stories’ have broken relating to a slew of unsubstantiated rumours as to why the former Man City wing-back has been dropped by Brazilian national team coach Dunga. Needless to say the tweets below are more than likely to be entirely fictitious, though quite where they all emanated from is hard to fathom.
