The Czech Republic host the Netherlands this evening, with both teams kicking off their qualifying campaign for Euro 2016 in confident mood and confident of qualification for the tournament in France in two years’ time.
Despite this, however, recent form for the Czechs has not been good, with a 1-0 home defeat against Australia last week giving them plenty to think about ahead of this crucial clash.
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech will be key against a Holland side who are likely to create chances, with Cech and Arsenal playmaker Tomas Rosicky holding more than 200 caps between them.
They are a team in transition, however, particularly moving forward, where Viktoria Plzen winger Daniel Kolar and young Watford striker Matej Vydra will provide a threat to the Dutch.
Visitors Holland will feel that they should prevail, despite a defeat to Italy in new manager Guus Hiddink’s first match in charge last week, in a game which also saw defender Bruno Martins Indi sent off.
Any team with the likes of Robin van Persie, Memphis Depay and Wesley Sneijder poses a genuine threat going forward, however, and Hiddink will be confident of getting up and running in Prague.
