Celtic have completed an extremely late transfer window signing, with their loan move for striker John Guidetti from Manchester City now having been ratified by the relevant parties.

The Swedish international, who has just one cap for his country, joins Ronnie Deila’s side on a season-long loan deal after a late hitch prevented the move from going through on transfer deadline day.
There had been suggestions that City would release Guidetti from his contract at the Etihad Stadium to allow him to join the SPL champions on a free transfer, but the SPL and Premier League have allowed the season-long loan deal to go through, allowing Guidetti to join Serbian Stefan Scepovic in strengthening the Celtic strike force late on.
With the likes of Anthony Stokes, Leigh Griffiths and Jo Inge Berget already available to Deila, the Norwegian boss will feel that he has enough to secure yet anther SPL title for Celtic – although he is likely to be targeting a run in the Europa League after a controversial Champions League campaign that eventually saw them fall to Maribor.
The Hoops have drawn Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg, Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb and Romanian side FC Astra Giurgiu in what Deila is sure to see as a tough draw – but one that his side can navigate with the help of players such as Guidetti, who will be looking to find the form that he once showed on loan at Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.
