Southampton still have plenty of money to spent following their summer exodus, and Sky Sports reports believe that manager Ronald Koeman has had a bid of £11.8m accepted for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Sadio Mane.
Mane is a 22-year-old Senegal international, who has played 15 times for his national side, scoring four goals. However, it is his club form that has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham.
The midfielder has netted 45 times in 86 games for his Austrian side and was widely regarded as the key to his side’s double-winning season, last term.
Mane, who represented his country at the 2012 London Olympics, moved to Salzburg in September of that year from French club Metz. His arrival could go some way to replacing the departed Adam Lallana.
Lallana was among three Saints players to move to Liverpool during the current trasfer window, along with Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert. Other star players, such as Luke Shaw and Calum Chambers have also departed – but the Saints have made a promising start to the new season.
