Manchester United flop Shinji Kagawa has agreed a four-year contract to re-sign for his old club Borussia Dortmund in a £6.3m deal, according to L’Equipe.
The Japanese international, 24, has had a difficult time in his two years at Old Trafford, struggling badly to find the form that saw him become one of the most sought-after talents in Europe during his first spell with Dortmund.
Kagawa now looks set to return to Germany before the transfer deadline, with United agreeing to let him go for a fraction of the £17m fee they originally paid for him back in 2012.
This will be seen as a great piece of business by Dortmund as they bring back one of their top players from a few years ago for a bargain price, and United manager Louis van Gaal will be pleased to continue his clear-out of this struggling United squad.
Nani and Wilfried Zaha have also left the club this summer in loan moves to Sporting Lisbon and Crystal Palace, respectively, while Tom Cleverley is in talks over a transfer to Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, van Gaal has moved to put his own stamp on this squad by bringing in new faces such as Angel Di Maria, Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw.
