Manchester City reportedly need to sell if they are going to be able to bring any more players into the club on transfer deadline day, with a small amount of that potentially coming from the £2.5 million sale of striker John Guidetti to Fiorentina, report the Star.
The 22 year-old has become something of a forgotten man at City, with a number of injury problems having hampered the progress of a player who was once considered to be one of the club’s most exciting young talents.
Guidetti scored an astonishing 20 goals in 23 Eredivisie appearances during a loan spell with Feyenoord in 2011/12, but has failed to find the net in a league game since, after a dry six-game spell with Stoke City.
The Swede, who has one cap for his country, appears to have no real future at Eastlands, with a number of strikers ahead of him in the pecking order, which appears to have cleared the way for Serie A side Fiorentina to make their move for the player.
La Viola are reportedly in talks over a £2.5m deal for Guidetti, who will come in to compliment prolific but injury prone striker Giuseppe Rossi, and will be hoping to force the deal through before the transfer window closes tomorrow.
