Serie A giants turn to Porto hitman as Balotelli replacement.
Mario Balotelli’s move to Liverpool has kicked off a chain reaction that will see AC Milan turn to FC Porto’s Jackson Martinez as a replacement.
According to respected journalist Tor-Kristian Karlsen, the Italians will put together a lucrative offer for the Colombian goal machine, but only once Porto have picked up the highly-rated Vincent Aboubakar from French side Lorient for a fee of around £8m.
Balotelli is expected to complete a £16m move to Liverpool this week and Milan are aware that they will need a new focal point for their attack, and have joined the long list of interested clubs keeping track of Martinez.
Since joining the Portuguese giants in 2012, Martinez has made a name for himself as a deadly goal scorer, wracking up 60 goals in 91 appearances across all competitions.
His record has since alerted him to a number of top European sides, though as of yet none have made an official approach for his signature.
But that will change as soon as Porto can secure the £8m signing of Lorient’s Vincent Aboubacar.
