Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has said that his actions were “unacceptable” and that he is ready to accept the consequences after being pictured smoking earlier this summer.
Wilshere, who has two young children, has been photographed with a cigarette on two separate occasions during his career.
The 22-year-old says that he is fully committed to “his job” at Arsenal and that it is time for his “feet to do the talking”.
Arsenal take on Benfica and AS Monaco next weekend as the annual Emirates Cup comes to North London.
