Former Liverpool transfer target Yann M’Vila has joined Inter Milan on a season-long loan move from Rubin Kazan.
The 24-year-old French midfielder, who has been capped 22 times by his country, joined the Russian side from Rennes last summer, despite interest from Liverpool, who also came close to signing the player in January.
Rubin manager Rinat Bilyaletdinov advised M’Vila to stay as he’d only be backup at Anfield, but has seemingly only delayed his want-away star’s departure.
Bilyaletdinov said: “In January M’Vila behaved badly – one day he trained, one day he didn’t. Maybe his agents had promised him something. He thought he was already in Liverpool.
“I told him: ‘It is not your level. If you go, you will be on the bench’. He was very disappointed. Now I haven’t seen him for a while. I have been told he is in France to cure an injury. Even if he is back to full fitness, I don’t know where to play him.”
His comments suggested an inevitable move for the 24-year-old this summer, and the player has now successfully secured his desired departure. Having missed out on his country’s World Cup squad, M’Vila is desperate to make his mark on one of the biggest European divisions, and will now have his chance to impress in Serie A.
