Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is set to anger his former club Swansea by beating them to the punch for Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis, who is available on a free transfer.

The French ace is now free to negotiate himself a move to the Premier League after running down his contract with French giants Lyon and had originally thought to be on his way to either Newcastle or Swansea.
