The options Rodgers is looking at in the final third.
With Liverpool returning to the Champions League next season after a fine 2013/14 Premier League campaign, new signings are needed at Anfield.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has already secured Rickie Lambert and Emre Can, but one key area for improvement is in attacking midfield.
As good as youngsters Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling were last term, the duo need support in the final third and here are five options Rodgers is looking to sign this summer.
Yevhen Konoplyanka, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk
The Reds almost completed a £12m transfer to sign this Ukraine international, only for the Dnipro president to block the move at the 11th hour – much to the disappointment of all involved.
Since then Manchester United have taken up interest and Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be in the hunt, but of course the Merseysiders have the lure of top European football ahead of those two.

Adam Lallana, Southampton
Having already signed Lambert from St Mary’s there could be another swoop on the Saints as Rodgers’ side have already had a £25m bid for Lallana rejected.
The 26-year-old is understood to be keen to play Champions League football, but the Reds won’t overpay for the England international and a deal is still far from agreed.

Lazar Markovic, Benfica
This winger helped Benfica to the Primeira Liga title last term and also a second successive Europa League final, but is looking for a way out of the Estadio da Luz.
Markovic would probably welcome a move to England and his club are already lining up Manchester United’s Nani as a replacement.

Alexis Sanchez, FC Barcelona
Many of Europe’s biggest sides are on alert as it becomes clear that Sanchez could be available to sign from the Nou Camp this summer due to frustration at a lack of first team football.
Juventus are leading the way and Arsenal are also thought to be keen as the 25-year-old’s stature grows with every impressive game he plays for Chile at the 2014 World Cup.

Xherdan Shaqiri, Bayern Munich
Rodgers is seriously considering snapping up this Switzerland international as he grows increasingly frustrated at a lock of game time at the Allianz Arena.
At 22-years-old Shaqiri is certainly a signing for the future and would probably be considerable cheaper than many others on this list.
