Barcelona Star Snubs Man United In Favour Of The Middle-East Move

Xavi in action for Barca

Xavi is set to forge a move to Al-Arabi and snubs United.

Manchester United’s hopes of landing Barcelona ace Xavi Hernandez have been dealt a huge blow with new Al-Arabi boss Dan Petrescu revealing that the Spaniard has put pen to paper on a pre-contract with the Qatari side.

“Xavi has signed a pre-contract with Al-Arabi. It looks likely that he’ll join but he does have offers from other clubs,” Petrescu was quoted by the Daily Express.

It is further reported that the club would be paying the legend wages of £6.3m-a-year.

The reports will certainly force United manager Louis van Gaal to revamp his transfer plans for the summer.

The Premier League side have been reported to be pursuing the player for quite a while now and the Dutchman’s arrival at Old Trafford was expected to tilt the scales in their favour.

United fans though are unlikely to be perturbed as the Spaniard is already nearing the twilight of his career as was quite evident from his performances last season.
