World Cup youngster could be set for Goodison Park.
Everton have identified Braga midfielder Rafa Silva as a top transfer target, according to The Sun.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez had wanted to strike a deal to keen Spaniard Gerard Deulofeu, who spent the past season on loan at Goodison Park.
However, Martinez seems to have switched his attention to Silva after new Barca boss Luis Enrique announced that Deulofeu would be in his first-team plans at the Camp Nou next term.
Silva, 21, enjoyed an impressive season with Braga, scoring three goals in 23 Primeira Liga games.
He made his senior international debut for Portugal in February and currently has three full caps.
Silva was included in Portugal’s 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil and he could feature on Monday night as Paulo Bento’s side take on Group G rivals Germany in Salvador.
Despite having a £16m release clause in his contract, Silva is valued at around £8m.
He has attracted interested from Southampton and Ligue 1 runners up AS Monaco, but Everton are said to be leading the race for his signature.
Martinez is planning for the future at Everton, after signing a five-year contract earlier this month.
