Arsenal’s hopes of signing Real Sociedad goalkeeper Claudio Bravo have been dealt a blow, according to the Daily Star.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking to recruit a new stopper this summer, after releasing Lukasz Fabianski, who has since joined Swansea City on a free transfer.
Bravo was said to rank high on Wenger’s wish-list, but the 31-year-old, who has been capped 79 times by Chile at senior international level, is apparently close to sealing a switch to Barcelona.
Barca have parted company with Spanish stopper Victor Valdes, but the La Liga giants have replaced the 32-year-old with Germany’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
Ter Stegen is just 22 years old and Barca boss Luis Enrique is keen to sign another goalkeeper to provide competition for him.
Bravo has three years left to run on his current contract at Sociedad. He has played for Sociedad since joining from Colo-Colo in 2006.
He has played over 200 league games for the Spanish club and has even scored a goal for them.

Bravo will be in action at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil. Chile have been drawn in Group B, along with Spain, Holland and Australia.
