Brazilian defender likely to switch clubs imminently.
Atletico Madrid’s Miranda, who has been linked with a move to both Manchester United and Chelsea, has confirmed that he is in talks with clubs in both England and Spain over a potential move, reports Sky Sports.
The 29-year-old central defender is highly sought-after and was a key part of Atletico Madrid’s phenomenal season of success which saw them win La Liga and reach the Champions League final.
The Brazil international told Radio ESPN, of his home country:: “I have some offers and we are negotiating.
“I have offers from Spanish and English leagues and from some less important ones too.
“My agent is in Europe to decide my future, my buy-out with Atletico Madrid is €30m (£24m), but that can be negotiated.”
Miranda’s comments certainly suggest that he is set to leave Atleti and Manchester United are thought to be one of the teams in England that are in discussions with him. However, Barcelona are rumoured to be interested in bringing him to the Nou Camp, so competition will be fierce.
Any transfer for the imposing defender is likely to be easier to make than most this summer as he is not involved in the World Cup. Despite such an excellent season in the Spanish capital, Miranda could not make it into Brazil’s final 23 and will not add to his seven caps this summer.
As such, a deal to take him to the likes of United or Barca could be done in the coming days.
