QPR Offer Trio New Contracts

Experienced trio set for new Loftus Road deals.

As QPR prepare for their first season back in the Premier League, they have offered the trio of Rob Green, Alejandro Faurlin and Clint Hill new contracts at the club, reports Sky Sports.

Much like last time they were in the top flight of English football, Rangers are expected to splash the cash this summer. However, manager Harry Redknapp is keen to tie down the future of three of his experienced current players, who have all previously turned out for the club in the Premier League.

Green has become the number one goalkeeper at Loftus Road, despite the presence of Brazil international Julio Cesar at the club. He made 48 Championship appearances as the R’s gained promotion to the Premier League last season and was crucial in their play-off final win over Derby at Wembley.

Hill is perhaps the most surprising of the names to be offered a new contract at QPR. The defender is now 35-years-old and it had been thought that his Premier League career was over when Rangers were relegated last year. However, an impressive season at the back in the Championship has earned the veteran a new deal.

Argentinian Faurlin has not appeared for QPR since November after damaging his cruciate ligaments whilst playing for the club. Redknapp still sees him as a key part of his squad, though, and is keen to have him back in the side in the Premier League.

All three men were due to be out of contract this summer and are expected to sign the deals they have been offered by Rangers.
