Hull City will complete the signings of Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand and Marseille midfielder Morgan Amalfitano this week, according to the Daily Star.

The Tigers are apparently poised to land Bertrand for £5.25m and Amalfitano for £4.5m.

Bertrand, 24, had also attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton, but he seems to have opted for a move to the KC Stadium.

Hull boss Steve Bruce reportedly made Bertrand his top left-back target after considering offers for Swansea City’s Neil Taylor, Tottenham’s Danny Rose and Doncaster Rovers youngster James Husband.

Bertrand has been capped twice by England at senior international level.

He became the first player to make his Champions League debut in the final when he helped Chelsea defeat Bayern Munich in 2012. However, he has only started 21 league games for the Blues.

Amalfitano spent this season on loan at West Bromwich Albion. The 29-year-old made 28 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

He completed 42 successful dribbles, 45 key passes, 38 tackles and 31 interceptions.

Bruce is keen to strengthen his squad ahead of Hull’s first campaign in the Europa League.

He is believed to want five key signings in total.
