Anfield side chase Hoffenheim attacker.
Liverpool have earmarked a move for Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino should their advances for Southampton playmaker Adam Lallana amount to nothing according to Football Direct News.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has already lodged a £20m bid for Lallana but Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to fill the White Hart Lane managerial vacancy created by Tim Sherwood’s sacking could lead to the England man considering a move to north London instead of a Merseyside switch.
Firmino is a very effective back-up option for Liverpool to consider and there is every chance that the creative Bundesliga man may feel the time is right to move to a side who can offer him Champions League action.
The 22 year old attacking midfielder not only notched up 16 Bundesliga goals but only Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus supplied more assists and this has led to interest from the Westfalenstadion side who are willing to offer £17m for his services.
Chelsea are also tracking Firmino who will feel his lack of a national team cap is down chiefly to the fact he doesn’t play for a high-profile side.
