Manchester United May Hijack Liverpool’s Planned Move For Ukraine Winger

Flyer has a £12m buyout clause in his contract.  

Manchester United may try and hijack Liverpool’s planned move for Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk wide man Yevhen Konoplyanka this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The Merseyside giants have been closely monitoring the Ukraine international for some time now and even came very close to signing the player in the January transfer window.

However, the two clubs were unable to reach a suitable agreement over a price for Konoplyanka and so the deal broke down on transfer deadline day, although the Reds are still expected to reignite their long-running interest in the winger when the summer window reopens for business.

And now Liverpool are set to face stiff competition for Konoplyanka’s signature from arch-rivals United, who have also been monitoring the player of late, that is if the club’s new boss Louis van Gaal gives the go-ahead to sign the 24-year-old that is, with Dnipro director Andriy Stetsenko recentlyclaiming: “Konoplyanka is still available for any club to buy. His contact has a buy-out option worth £12m.”
