France international hints at Real Sociedad exit.
Real Sociedad playmaker Antoine Griezmann has hinted that he could move to a “big club” this summer.
Griezmann, who generally plays wide on the left in a similar position to Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, has been strongly linked with Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Premier League duo have both scouted the 23-year-old on multiple occasions over the past two years.
Griezmann has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 32 La Liga appearances this season.
He will play his final club game of the campaign on Sunday when Sociedad host Villarreal.
The Frenchman will then join up with his international teammates ahead of the World Cup, having been named in Didier Deschamps’ 23-man squad on Tuesday.
He plans to consider his future before the start of next season.
“I do not know, but first we have to play against Villarreal, then the World Cup and then we’ll see. I hope to have holidays and then we’ll see what happens,” Griezmann told AS, according to the Daily Star.
“If one day I leave, it will be to move to a big club. But there is still a long time for that. That’s something that the club and my agent will deal with.
“I’m here enjoying myself and we’ll see what can happen. I’m focused on playing.”
Griezmann has just over two years left to run on his current contract with Sociedad, who can guarantee a top-six finish in La Liga if they avoid defeat to Villarreal.
He began his youth career at hometown club UF Maconnais, before moving to Sociedad as a teenager in 2005.
His main qualities include his pace, dribbling, long-distance shooting and set-piece delivery.
