The Scot was overseeing the second leg of the Premier League champions’ quarter-final clash in the Uefa Champions League with holders Bayern Munich on Wednesday night when the unfortunate incident took place.
And what is worse, the cause of the stray ball hitting him was none other than one of his very own players, experienced France international Patrice Evra, whose attempted clearance in the first half deflects off Bayern playmaker Franck Ribery before striking Moyes on the touchline.
