Liverpool Target German Winger as Brendan Rodgers Seeks Extra Attacking Edge

Anfield side chase in-form Bundesliga youngster.

Liverpool are thought to be keen on in-form German wide-man Kevin Volland with Brendan Rodgers looking to bring in fresh attacking options this summer according to Football Direct News.

The German Under 21 international is having an excellent season at Hoffenheim, scoring nine goals for the Bundesliga side, and is on the fringes of a first call-up to the senior national team set-up and considered one of the hottest prospects in European football.

Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keen on Volland but a move to a Liverpool side on the up and up may seem more tempting than a switch to the Westfalenstadion outfit, who are a country mile behind domestic rivals Bayern Munich.

Rodgers signed Chelsea’s Victor Moses on a loan spell but is unlikely to look to make the switch a permanent one and is keen to sign a wide attacker who can supply a real goal threat to help support first choice strike-pair Luis Suarez & Daniel Sturridge.

Liverpool could well also look to offload under-performing attackers Oussama Assaidi, Fabio Borini and Iago Aspas to help make room for more effective replacements.
