Dutch international Van Persie has struggled to meet the same standards as last season and has cut a troublesome figure as the club continue their slide toward mid-table mediocrity.
Last week the 30-year-old denied that he was looking to move on at the end of the season, but the club could be tempted to cash in on him this summer, and should they do so they have already identified the man to become his long term successor.
The 21-year-old Drmic has been heavily praised this season as he has made an impressive impact during his first season as a Bundesliga player.
Having only arrived from FC Zurich last summer he has already bagged himself 12 goals and three assists, something that has already drawn attention to him from other bigger clubs across Europe.
Nuremberg are currently hovering just above the relegation zone in Germany, and if they do slip down the trap door it is unlikely that they will be able to keep hold of him for much longer.
