Emirates Stadium side to meet QPR asking price.
Arsenal are ready to offer £12m for QPR striker Loic Remy, an offer that is believed to have be one the Championship side are willing to accept.
CaughtOffside understands that having missed out on capturing the French international on previous occasions in his career Arsene Wenger is keen to avoid disappointment once again by putting in a deal in place to bring the in-form striker to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the current campaign.
26 year old striker Remy is currently in the middle of a season long loan spell at Newcastle United and has once again proven himself more than capable of scoring regularly in the English top tier.
Remy netted six goals in 14 appearances for QPR last term but was unable to prevent Harry Redknapp’s side suffering relegation and was therefore sent to St James’ Park where he has continued to find the back of the net with alarming ease.
The former Marseille man has scored 10 goals in 16 appearances for Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United side, helping them to six spot, and the North-East club are known to also be keen on signing the forward on a permanent basis.
However Wenger is confident he can convince Remy to join fellow national team colleagues Laurent Koscielny, Olivier Giroud, Bacary Sagna and Abou Diaby at the North London club, with the carrot of Champions League football, if secured, perhaps a likely motivating factor.
Wenger is keen to bring in striking options to strengthen his attack but may feel he is able to wait until next summer before bringing in a new addition. Though Olivier Giroud has been heavily depended on for much of the current campaign the return of both Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski from injury may convince the Arsenal man to hold out for Remy.
