The 26 year old Italian international has been in outstanding form this term, scoring nine and providing seven assists in 16 Serie A appearances and as a result forcing his way into Cesare Prandelli’s national team set-up and is likely to be a key performer at next summer’s 2014 World Cup finals.
Cerci clearly has ambitions beyond his current club with the former Fiorentina man stating;
“I feel ready for the Champions League – I have matured,”
David Moyes is known to be an admirer of the adaptable attacker and given the average form displayed by the likes of Nani, Luis Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young, coupled with his unwillingness to use new signing Wilfried Zaha in anything other than a cameo role, could lead to a renewed bid for Cerci.
Cerci moved to Torino last summer and has helped the club to maintain a foothold in the top half of the table and perhaps crucially for Moyes would be available for Champions League action this season.
