Zenit star has eyes for ‘big club’.

Check in to Brazil vs Chile

Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel has admitted that he has his heart set on a move to a big club and cannot look past the Premier League, according to reports from Sky Sports.

Premier League Transfer Rumours

He is currently one of the jewels in Zenit’s crown at the moment, having joined the club from Portuguese giants Benfica for over £30m just over 12 months ago.

And despite being one of the highest paid players in Russia, he has confessed that he is still thinking of ways to better his career after being one of the star players for his country in their quest to make it to next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

And though he is keen to test himself in England, he is in no rush to leave Russia and is quite happy to bide his time for the foreseeable future.

“I’ve an objective in my head and I want to join a big club,” he is quoted by Het Laatste Nieuws.

“But I don’t say it has to happen now, I don’t even know when, but it has to be a top club.”

And he admitted that England is where he wants to be having seen how successful the rest of the division’s Belgian imports have been so far.

“Then I think about the Premier League, the league everyone’s looking at. You have eight top clubs there.”
