Anfield side keen on Serie A attacker.
Check in to Arsenal vs Liverpool
Liverpool are reportedly taking a keen interest in young Argentine forward Juan Iturbe according to CalcioMercato.
The 20 year old attacker is currently plying his trade in Serie A with newly promoted Verona having been loaned out to the Italian club by FC Porto.
Iturbe has netted twice in four domestic starts and is said to be on the fringes of a full senior Argentine national team cap and is a player who would very much adhere to Liverpool’s youthful transfer policy.
The adaptable starlet can play out wide or in a central striking role and is a player with a great deal of flair and certainly a talent with a promising future ahead of him.
With Liverpool riding high at the top end of the Premier League it is perhaps plausible that Iturbe would be keen to consider a move to Anfield though he is tied down to a season long loan deal at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi and as such Rodgers would presumably look to make an offer for the youngster next summer.
Liverpool have a fair few effective attacking options at present but clearly on loan wide-man Victor Moses may well only be at the club on a temporary basis and Luis Suarez’s future at the club still seems unsure. Summer signing Iago Aspas has struggled for form and Fabio Borini does not appear to be part of the club’s long term plans having been farmed out to Sunderland.
