Liverpool have been strongly linked with moves to capture two top Serie A talents according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Anfield boss has been linked with an ambitious move to sign AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy, who finished last season as the San Siro side’s top scorer but has struggled for a regular spot in Massimiliano Allegri’s starting eleven this term.
The 20 year old scored 19 goals in all competitions last season but has started just one of AC Milan’s eight Serie A fixtures this term, with the arrival of Mario Balotelli in January leading to the former Genoa man playing a less prominent role in proceedings and the summer capture of Alessandro Matri further limiting his involvement.
Rodgers may feel the need to strengthen his attack, especially as Luis Suarez’s future at the club is still a tad tenuous. That said the Merseyside club have started the season strongly and England man Daniel Sturridge has been in fine form.
Liverpool are also said to be leading the chase for young midfielder Jorginho with the 21 year old said to be on Arsenal’s wish-list.
Jorginho, who is eligible to play for both the Italian and Brazilian national teams. has impressed since moving to Italy in 2010 and played a key role in securing Verona’s promotion to the top tier last term.
Jorginho has since gone on to impress in Serie A, scoring five goals and providing an assist in his first eight starts.
