Young midfielder admits he is aware of English interest.
Check in to Crystal Palace vs Arsenal
Hellas Verona star Jorginho has confirmed that he is well aware that Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea both sent scouts to watch him in action this weekend, talkSPORT reports.
Earlier on in the week Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini had confessed that the Italian club face a huge battle to hang on to him in the January transfer window.
And now the 21-year-old has revealed that there were in fact scouts from both of the London clubs in attendance at the weekend to see him bag two goals in the 3-2 victory over Parma, which took his tally for the season up to five goals in eight games in Serie A.
Liverpool are also thought to be interested in the player, who is believed to be rated around £10m, but he confirmed that the sides from the capital were there by saying; “In the match against Parma there were scouts from teams like Arsenal and Chelsea.
“Maybe if I keep playing well I can show exactly what I’m worth.”
Both sides were surely impressed as his double fired the minnows up to fourth in the table, but coach Mandorlini was quick to keep the praise under wraps.
“I think that was his worst game of the season.
“I changed his position more than once because he was struggling. In the end I decided to not replace him and perhaps that was the right decision.”
