GK: Joe Hart – Patchy City form, but most experienced ‘keeper in the squad.
RB: Kyle Walker – Deputising for the injured Glenn Johnson.
LB: Leighton Baines – It’s time for him to take over Cole’s role.
CB: Phil Jagielka – Leadership and en excellent understanding of positioning.
CB: Gary Cahill – Stand out performer from Ukraine.
DM: Michael Carrick – Anchor man to sit deep and look to release wide players.
CM: Jack Wilshire – Deserved starting spot despite recent indiscretions.
CM: Frank Lampard – Experienced head next to Wilshire, can score from anywhere.
LWF: Daniel Sturridge – Pace and trickery out wide to link up with Rooney.
RWF: Danny Welbeck – Same as Sturridge, pace will cause problems.
