Diego Capel- Sporting Lisbon to Liverpool
Capel looks set to leave Sporting Lisbon this summer, having tired of playing in the Portuguese League. Reports suggest that the winger is looking to cut his teeth in a move competitive league and he has been linked with a move to the Premier League. Liverpool have long been interested in Capel and they recently sold Stewart Downing, meaning they have a vacant spot on the wing that they need to fill before the transfer window closes. Brendan Rodgers has tried desperately to sign a quality wide player all summer but he may have found his man in Capel, who is an out and out winger.
Capel hasn’t had the best of times at Sporting Lisbon but still possesses several qualities that would make him ideal for the Premier League. He also wouldn’t be too expensive, with Sporting reportedly willing to sell him for only £6 million. However, Liverpool aren’t the only team who interested in signing the winger, with Arsenal also thought to be readying a move for the player.
