Demba Ba- Chelsea to Newcastle United
Ba’s short career at Chelsea looks to be over already, after only half a year at Stamford Bridge. The striker moved to the Blues in January and although he scored a few spectacular goals for the UEFA Cup winners, he struggled to break into the Blues first team with manager Rafa Benitez preferring to use the unpredictable Fernando Torres as his sole striker. Things haven’t got much better under Chelsea’s new boss Jose Mourinho, who has barely given Ba any game time during the first few games of the season.
With Mourinho set to bring in at least one attacking addition to the club before the transfer window closes, Ba looks set to be surplus to requirements. He has been linked with several different clubs this summer, one of them being his former club Newcastle. Magpies boss Alan Pardew never replaced Ba at St James’s Park and is desperately looking to add a quality striker to his squad before the transfer window closes. That quality striker could be Ba, with reports suggesting Newcastle will try and bring the front-man back to St James’s Park on loan.
