Christopher Samba doesn’t expect to be leaving Anzhi Makhachkala this summer despite the clubs financial problems, Sky Sports reports.
The defender recently re-joined Anzhi from QPR despite only signing for the Hoops in January but reports have suggested that Samba maybe sold by the Russian club as their financial problems deepen.
The club recently announced their intention to cut costs, with reports suggesting that the clubs owner had cut a large potion of his funding.
This means that stars like Willian and Samuel Eto will have to be sold, with Brazilian set to join Chelsea while Eto has been linked with several big European clubs.
West Ham and Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Samba but the centre back has said that he intends to stay with Anzhi for the foreseeable future.
Samba told BobSoccer: “I’m not going anywhere.
“The fact is that the club has decided to rejuvenate things and is undergoing a bit of a makeover. But I’m here and I’m doing my job.
“There is no question of my departure. I want to say this again, I’m at home here and I’m not going anywhere.”
It remains to be seen whether Anzhi will be able to keep Samba at the club but if they do decide to sell the defender, their will be plenty of interest in his signature.
