Welsh side hope to bring in prolific Icelandic international.
Cardiff City are reportedly in talks with Eredivisie side Heerenveen over a planned £4m deal to sign prolific striker Alfred Finnobogason according to the Daily Mail.
Though Malky Mackay’s side had little problem finding the net against Man City on the weekend the Bluebirds boss may feel he needs to strengthen his Cardiff City attack and may feel confident that Icelandic international Finnbogason can replicate, to an extent, the form he has shown in the Dutch top tier in the Premier League.
The 24 year old has been an astonishing success since moving to Heerenveen from Lokeren last August, scoring 24 goals in 31 appearances last term and following that up with an even more impressive six goals in four matches thus far this term.
Cardiff City have spent big thus far this summer, forking out over £25m to bring in the likes of Steven Caulker, Gary Medel and Andreas Cornelius from Tottenham, Sevilla and FC Copenhagen but it seems that the club’s owners are more than willing to finance major signings so as to better the Welsh club’s chances of retaining their Premier League status.
