Spurs rekindle interest in Steaua Bucharest defender.
Tottenham look set to continue their summer spending spree with a move for Steaua Bucharest defender Vlad Chiriches, according to the Daily Express.
Spurs were linked with the talented 23-year-old earlier in the summer, before a move reportedly fell through at the last minute, though they are now keen to try again for one of their long-term targets.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas has brought in a number of new players to White Hart Lane this summer in a bid to seal a top four spot for the club, having missed out by just one point to rivals Arsenal last season.
With Gareth Bale set to leave the club in a world record £93million move to Real Madrid, Spurs have been able to rebuild their squad with the signings of Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Etienne Capoue and Nacer Chadli, with the promise of further big names in Willian and Erik Lamela to come.
Chiriches could be a useful addition at the back as well, with Villas-Boas keen to add alternatives to Michael Dawson and the injury-prone Younes Kaboul, while veteran centre half William Gallas was released by the club at the end of last season.
Spurs have also been linked with Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld as an option at the back.
