Rajogopal and Ong Kim Swee Agree to Ration Players Between Them

Malaysian National Coaches to converse before picking squad

In a bid to ensure that they don’t pick the same players for September’s internationals, two of Malaysia’s coaches have agreed to co-operate with each other.

Datuk K Rajogopal Coach of the senior Malaysian side and Ong Kim Swee, Harimau Muda ‘A’ Coach discussed the matter to ensure both the senior side and the U23 were as strong as possible.

It has been announced that Kelantan defender Nik Shahrul Azim and also Sarawak’s Junior Eldstal will travel with Rajogopal, while other rising stars such as Fadhli Shas will play in the Merkeda Cup under Ong.

According to Goal Malaysia Ong, speaking to Utusan said: “Rajagopal and I have discussed earlier in order to avoid picking up the same players as we both understand how important our job is.

“I have a tough task of preparing for the SEA Games as Rajagopal is also preparing his team for the Asian Cup qualifier.

“So we have made the decision that Nik Shahrul and Junior will join the national team as the rest of them can join me for the Merdeka Cup.”

This new era of communication will hopefully see the end scenes similar to last October’s debacle, where Rajogopal picked 5 Young Tigers for his side without Ong knowing.
