Coach anticipates a difficult few games
Bojan Hodak believes his Kelantan side face a real challenge in the Malaysia Cup.
The Golden Deer will face Terengganu, Pahang and relegated Negeri Sembilan, Hodak who has guided Kelantan to FA Cup success twice, feels the competition will be tough but at the same time admits there isn’t a single side he is afraid of facing.
Speaking to Goal Malaysia he said: ” it is quite a tough group we’ve been drawn into. Terengganu and Pahang put up a tough fight this season; Pahang had a very good season and Terengganu, also, almost dent our hopes in the FA Cup final.
Hodak also feels it is crucial for his side to keep focused against weaker opposition:” Negeri [Sembilan] had a very poor season but the Malaysia Cup will be the place for them to prove something. They have some good players that can surprise us. We should never underestimate them.”
Despite voicing his concerns about the difficulty of the group stages, the Croatian still feels his side have got what it takes to win the Cup.
“There is no team that worries me so far, as we are in a good shape. We won the last six matches in the league and we contained Selangor well in the friendly. So I would say that we are good to go for the win.
“I’m fully aware that we will face really strong competition, but nothing is impossible. I am optimistic that we can win this cup.”
