Serie A side not interested in Loftus Road custodian.
Fiorentina are the latest club to have ruled out a summer move for Queens Park Rangers Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar according to talkSPORT.
The Serie A club’s director of sport Daniele Prade has revealed that the club will not be signing the 33-year-old with the Viola coach Vincenzo Montella’s happy with the current goalkeepers at his disposal.
“We can dismiss the Julio Cesar option,” he told Football Italia. “That is because that transfer is not feasible.
“We are happy with the two goalkeepers who we have right now and we are evaluating things on a daily basis.
“We have a strong squad, but the players need to give us what we are asking for.”
QPR manager Harry Redknapp wants to see the former Inter Milan leave Loftus Road but his reported £96,000-a-week wages are proving difficult to offload for the one-time Tottenham manager.
The Italian team already have Brazilian Norberto Neto and Cristiano Lupatelli in the squad as well as summer signing Gustavo Munua who offers them more choice between the sticks.
But after deciding not to make the loan signing of Italian international Emiliano Viviano permanent at the end of last season, speculation has indicated that Cesar was an option for the Artemio Franchi side.
However the Serie A side have now ended the prospect of return to Serie A for Cesar with his massive wage demands understood to be putting off potential suitors.
Cesar is keen to leave the Championship side before the transfer window shuts in three weeks time as he seeks to play at a higher level ahead of the World Cup in his native Brazil.
However with Napoli out of the running having signed Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina on a loan deal instead and after Arsenal reportedly ended their interest, the keeper looks no closer to departing Loftus Road.
