Defender is preparing for a challenge
Malaysian central defender Aidil Zafuan is aware of the the gulf in class between the two sides but is determined to fight the Spanish side every step of the way.
With the La Liga Champions scoring an incredible 15 goals in their last two games(friendlies against Brazilian side Santos and Thailand), few would bet against them rattling in several more on Saturday.
Despite the long odds the defender believes the game will be a great source of learning for the side.
Speaking to Utusan Malaysia Zafuan said: “When you say Barcelona, everyone, not just the players, feel inferior and small when you’re facing the stars while knowing full well their qualities.
“We are far behind them. Nobody would bet on us to win but at least we can try to give a fight and gain as much experience as possible.”
Defenders Azizi Mat Rose and Amiridzwan Taj are likley to miss out through injury, leaving Fadhli Shas as the man to partner Zafaun at the back.
The game is expected to boost the Malaysian economy substantially, to the tune of RM 115 Million, with 80,000 spectators and 8,000 Barcelona fans planning to make the journey to the Bukit Jalil stadium.
