Bundesliga club Freiburg have rubbished claims suggesting that young midfield star Matthias Ginter will be sold this summer, Sky Sports reports.
The 19-year-old has been the subject of some heavy attention from Premier League side Arsenal, who have reported to already tabled a big bid to bring him to the Emirates.
However, Freiburg have insisted that they are not interested in selling the German under-21 international and have warned Arsenal, as well as any other interested parties, that any bid will be rejected.
Ginter has already become a key figure in the German side’s plans since breaking into the first team in 2012, and has been tipped to have a big future within the game.
The club’s sporting director Jochen Saier has moved to deny reports that they could be tempted into a sale.
“This is pure rubbish!” He told Badische Zeitung.
“We have not received any enquiries and we are not thinking about anything to do with this.
“Matthias Ginter is a big part of SC Freiburg, he is an important part of the first team.”
Ginter has made 36 appearances for Freiburg, scoring just twice, but his first strike was enough to earn him the honour of being the club’s youngest ever goalscorer.
