Norwich City’s proposed move for PSV attacker Ola Toivonen is still on hold with the Swedish international reportedly still unsure about a move to Carrow Road according to Metro.
The Canaries had agreed a deal worth £4.8million with the Eredivisie outfit for attacking midfielder back in June but the 27-year-old is yet to decide if he wants to move England and the deal has gone cold.
Celtic striker Gary Hooper has since signed for Chris Hugton’s side to join fellow striker Dutch international Ricky Wolfswinkel from Sporting Club in Portugal as the former Newcastle boss looks to revitalise his current attack which was among the weakest in the Premier League last season.
However the forward, who has also had interest from West Brom in the past, appears to be still considering a switch to the Premier League side this summer despite returning to pre-season training with his current side.
‘I did not say definitely that Norwich was no longer an option. I want to take my time, and not hurry,’ said Toivonen, who has netted 59 goals in his 125 games for PSV.
Toivonen has just moved into the final year of his contract with the Dutch club and he could prove to be another attacking option for the Canaries as Hughton plans for the new Premier League campaign.
But it remains to be seen if the player’s deferring tactics, as he possibly waits for more offers to appear on the table, will cause Norwich to dismiss the prearranged deal after the long delay.
