Hamburg Midfielder Dennis Aogo Ignores Transfer Talk

Versatile star still faces uncertain future.

Hamburg midfielder Dennis Aogo is refusing to comment on rumours linking him with a move away from the club as the team’s management have yet to tell him whether he still has a future at the Imtech Arena, Sky Sports reports.

The 26-year-old, who usually operates in midfield but can also moonlight comfortably as a left back, is just one of a group of player that has been linked with a move away from the club in order to raise funds for the Bundesliga giants.

However, Aogo, who joined the club five years ago from Freiburg is not concerning himself the speculation.

“I am a Hamburg player and as long as no-one from the club tells me I am up for sale I won’t be concerned with it,” he told Hamburger Abendblatt.

Everton striker Nikica Jelavic is believed to be one of the players that the club is looking to raise money for, but first team coach Torsten Fink has insisted that he is leaving all transfer duties to the side’s general manager.

“I am the manager and I am working with the first-team squad I have available in training. The rest is pretty much the job of Oliver Kreuzer,” he said.

Aogo, who has 12 German international caps to his name has made over 150 appearances for Hamburg during his time there and was linked with a move to Liverpool earlier in the year.
