Chelsea youngster John McEachran is wanted by Spanish side Real Sociedad on loan according to the Express
The 20-year is highly thought of amongst the coaching staff at Stamford Bridge but he seems unlikely to feature in Blues boss Jose Mourinho first team plans for the new season.
McEachran spent last season out on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough where he performed admirably, collecting their young player of the year award in May.
Despite this impressive form in the second tier, the Oxford-born midfielder looks further away from making a breakthrough into the Chelsea first team.
The return of Michael Essien from Real Madrid plus the summer arrivals of Andre Schurrle and Marco van Ginkel have created even more competition for places at Stamford Bridge.
And now reports from Spain suggest that Sociedad could take the youngster on a short term deal as they seek a replacement for Spanish midfield starlet Asier Illarramendi who left this summer to join Real Madrid.
The Anoeta side had an incredible season as they qualified for the Champions League following a fourth place finish in La Liga but they are struggling to replace Illarramemdi after reportedly already missing out on Barcelona youngster Jonathan Dos Santos.
They have now looked further afield and have reportedly outlined a move for the left-footed Chelsea youngster who could gain great future benefit from playing Champions League football during the upcoming season.
McEachran made his first senior appearance for Chelsea in September 2010 against MSK Zilina and has since made 11 appearances for the Stamford Bridge side also spending a period out on loan at Swansea City in 2012.
