Olave will join NYRB teammate Thierry Henry as Inactive Player for Wednesday’s game against AS Roma.

New York Red Bulls defender Jamison Olave has been called up to the MLS All-Stars as an Inactive Player.

Olave will complete the All-Stars’ 32-man roster, as per the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, after a vote from every player in MLS. As a part of the inactive roster, he will not be eligible to play in the game.

Olave has been in imposing form this season, his partnership with fellow Red Bull centre-back Marcus Holgersson allowing only 27 goals so far this season.

Not only a defensive powerhouse, Olave has been dangerous at the other end of the pitch too, scoring a career record four goals in 19 appearances.

This will be the third time the towering Colombian has been selected for the All-Star team, following he inclusion in both the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

Olave will be the second NYRB player on the billing, after it was announced that Thiery Henry will both start and captain the All-Stars during their exhibition on Wednesday night against AS Roma.
