White Hart Lane side welcome in FC Twente wide-man.
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of FC Twente winger Nacer Chadli for a reported £7million subject to a medical according to BBC Sport.
The 23-year-old has flown to London to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical with the White Hart Lane staff before jetting out to join his new team-mates in Hong Kong for pre-season training.
A Tottenham statement on their official website read: “We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with FC Twente for the transfer of Nacer Chadli.
“Subject to personal terms and medical, the Belgian international winger will join up with the squad for pre-season training in Hong Kong.”
The winger, who has also been linked with previous moves to Aston Villa, Fulham and Swansea, can play on either flank to give Andre Villas-Boas the versatility required to play Welsh star Gareth Bale in a free role again this season.
“The 23-year-old, who has been capped on 14 occasions by his country, joined FC Twente from Apeldoorn in 2010 and went on to make 106 appearances for the Dutch side, scoring 31 goals,”
He is now set to become Spurs’ second summer signing after Brazilian international Paulinho joined in a club record £17m deal while he will become the third Belgian at White Hart lane, alongside Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele.
Chadli, who has dual citizenship and played for Morocco in a friendly before representing Belgium, was on the scoresheet when Spurs met FC Twente in the Champions League group stages at White Hart Lane three years ago.
